As a special treat, our prized alum, Congresswomen Jackie Speier spoke to the school about women's equality. Her platform is equal pay for women and is also trying to have a Rosie the Riveter Day passed as a national holiday. Jackie talked about the importance of Title IX and how she ran for SBO her senior year at Mercy and did not win her election, but she didn't let it deter her. Obviously that didn't stop her political career!
It was an exciting first week of school and I am so happy we made it to the weekend.
