We all know how cold it has been the last couple weeks, and our students in plaid skirts have been especially cold too. This week the SBO’s wrote a proposal to allow leggings to be worn with their uniform (usually the girls are only allowed to wear black tights). They started a petition and got overwhelming support from the student body. Today their letter crossed the Dean’s, mine, and our Head of School’s desk and the proposal was approved!
Below is the letter from our HoS to the students.
I am so proud of our SBOs! They organized and articulately advocated for themselves and all our students. That’s exactly what we train our Mercy girls to do. Leggings may seem like a small victory, but it is proof that at Mercy our belief in educating and creating strong women is working.
