I did a big pitching clinic today for the Sierra Madre League. About 20 girls attended ages 8-12. I also required that every pitcher brought a catcher who can learn how to pitch too. I have found that teaching the parents is often just as important as teaching the girls.
I went through the pitching basics of pointing and dragging your toe. We did a couple of drills, but I mostly wanted to give the girls some skills they could use immediately because their games have already started. We had a lot of fun and I saw strikes and smiles. Two of my favorite things!
Nice, Claire.
