Painted Rocks

RR and I painted rocks today with the intention to spread them around the neighborhood to spread joy. RR is a much better artist than I am and it is fun to watch her work. While I sit and worry about what to draw, or how, or if it will look stupid, Ryan just goes for it. She is fearless.
Here is the scene on our back deck.

At one point I made a mistake and wasn’t sure what to do, and RR said, “just paint over it!” For me, I felt like my mistake was final and I wasn’t sure how to move forward, but for Ryan, she doesn’t spend energy on a poor brush stroke, just decides to start over. What a great perspective! This is resilience.

RR taught me how to make an ombré background. Start with the lightest color on top.

And then brush them back and forth bringing the lightest color down.

These are our final products. RR’s mountains are beautiful!

Here is my rock in the Marine Reserve. I hope someone else enjoys it too.
