Trip To Sacramento

Syd's House
Syd and I left this morning at 5:30 to drive to Sacramento. Syd grew up in Fair Oaks, CA, and we are staying at his parents house for two days before going to HMB for Christmas. We made a slight detour to Sacramento because I gave Syd Sacramento Kings tickets (he's a huge fan) as an early Christmas present. The game is tomorrow, so we drove up a day early to do some sight seeing.
Fair Oaks is known for their bridge.

The American River

Syd's childhood home is in a cute neighborhood right on the American River. There are many trails along the river and we took the bikes out for a spin. It is currently the end of the salmon spawning season so we saw a bunch of salmon (dead and alive) swimming up stream. I never realized big full grown salmon are!

Some salmon who didn't make it.

The Gym at Jesuit

We also stopped by Syd's high school, Jesuit, a Catholic all boys school down the road. They have amazing athletic facilities, the baseball field has 6 batting cages!!

The school's motto is "men for others" and they had this sundial that's shadow projected the motto. Very subliminal.

Tomorrow we are going to play golf in the morning and then meet up with my family who is visiting Grandfather Don. Kings game in the evening, and then off to HMB.
