Grand Opening

My friends Sara and Jon had a Grand Opening of their store in Venice. I stopped by the shop for about an hour to check out their new business. The store is called Japanese Knife Imports and they sell Japanese knives and pottery.

The store is a little boutique and they decorated it really nicely. Sara and Jon are very proud owners so it was cool to see their business in action.

Sara's parents are in town from Japan for the opening. They were serving traditional green tea and rice cookies. The green tea is frothy and thicker than the green tea at Starbucks. Have you ever had a wheat grass shot? That's what it reminded me of. I considered trying the tea the one thing a day that scares me. Ha. On another note, Sara's dad is a potter and he made the cup. Her mom showed me how to hold it correctly. Nice cultural experience.
