Early Morning

One of my favorite parts of Kauai is waking up early and watching the sunrise. With the time difference waking up at 4 or 5 is sleeping in at home. This morning we went to the beach here in Poipu to do some yoga. Syd wasn’t expecting to surf, because the waves are small in the south this time of year, but he ended up getting in the water.

In the afternoon we went up to the North Shore. Syd surfed at a locals break and it was kind of intense. Even on the beach where I was sitting people were not very welcoming of tourists. 

This beach dog sat next to me while his owner surfed. 
On the way home we stopped at a little juice stand on the side of the road. I ordered a pineapple frostie, which was frozen pinapple ground up to the consistency of soft serve ice cream. It was so good! The texture was like ice cream, but it was dairy and sugar free!!
