Back on Track

My team had hit a little speed bump in the last few games, we lost 3 in a row after having a 6 game win streak. It hurt! The girls were all in a hitting slump. So much of hitting is confidence and theirs was shaken a little.

Purple Cleats

Today we played LA Baptist, a school that is historically a good softball program. They have a really nice turf field, but you aren't allowed to wear metal cleats. It was a slight problem for us because this year we have awesome Adidas team cleats that are metal, so we had to scramble to make sure everyone could play. I lent out my purple pair of rubber cleats to Kathleen for the game. It was pretty comical to see her wear them because we were playing a purple school! That would have NOT been ok if we were playing Marlborough.




The game today was great because we did everything we set out to do. I wanted Kathleen to pitch 3 solid innings, and then have Jess come in and throw hard for 4. Both pitchers did their jobs very well. Defense protected our lead and the offense dominated the game. Every single hitter got a hit today and we didn't have a single strikeout. Very impressive. We ended up winning 10-5.

Game highlight: Daisy hitting a grand slam in the 2nd inning. She didn't realize it was over the fence so she sprinted around the bases. After she hit is she said "I'm back!"


Now we are 9-4 on the season. Still a great record. Winning feels so much better.
