Sister Mary Corita

Syd and I went to the Sister Mary Corita exhibit at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. Corita Kent was a Sister of Immaculate Heart who was an artist in the 60's. She was apart of the movement that rejected Vatican II that eventually lead to the Sister of Immaculate Heart to leave the LA Archdiocese.

While I was working at IH I remember seeing many of the pieces of Sister Mary Corita's art around the school. The artwork is very colorful, and almost always uses quotes from 60's pop culture or the Bible. One print in particular was hung in the principal's office and it was cool to see it in the museum today.
