This has been the series of the umpire. There has been many controversial obstruction calls at home, a foul bunt called fair, and even Lisa Fernandez getting ejected from a game for arguing with an umpire and bumping her out of frustration. My opinion about Lisa Fernandez is an entirely different blog post, but today in game one of the championship series, the umpires were driving me crazy. I have the utmost respect for officials because it is a thankless job, but when a pitcher is crow hopping on the biggest stage, I would appreciate it if they would call an illegal pitch. I hate crow hopping!! (And so does my dad!)I am curious to see if any umpire steps their game up and makes the call over the next three games.
