Arthur is Home!

After a very worrisome couple of days, Arthur has finally come home from the hospital. On Saturday Arthur was having trouble breathing so we brought him in for a check up. The vet x-rayed his chest and later called us with the news that his liver was pushing on his lungs and he needed surgery immediately. I was in shock. We had no idea that Arthur had only been breathing with one lung since he was a kitten, so we rushed him to the animal emergency hospital for surgery. He had a few complications, and there were a couple of nights that I laid in bed in Kansas City thinking positive thoughts and telling the universe in my head how much we love Arthur and we believed that he could make it through the the night.

This process has been the hardest on Syd and when we got the news this morning that Arthur was going to be released, Syd felt the most relief. We picked him up at 5:00 today and are so happy he is home! During the recovery process at home he has to stay in a crate and wear a sweater. He is still on pain medication, and is all shaved, but we saved his life.

Welcome home Arthur Clatt! Special thanks to Kristin for helping Syd and I through our cat trauma. We wouldn't have made it without your support.

  1. Such an ordeal - love to all, including Arthur who is looking pretty good, considering all he has been through.
