7-0 in League

Today was the big game and my players were cool and confident. They played with energy, dominated every inning and we beat Carlmont 7-2. It was the first time in years that HMB has beat Carlmont on their own field. I am so proud of the girls for how hard they fought today. We had runners in scoring positions in a few innings but, the defense came up with clutch catches and plays to get us out of jams. It was fun to watch!

It was a great game, but one of the highlights for me was seeing Callie, my asst. coach walk up to the field. She has been in the hospital for over a week and it was great to see her out of the hospital. I know that Callie somehow convinced her doctor to release her because she didn't want to miss the game. She loves our team and she hated having to miss a couple games.

All in all, a good day. Now we have to keep focused on our goals and not let up for a single inning or out. Go Cougars!
