After touching some otter fur, and seeing huge whale bones, we drove up the hill to the Mystery Spot. I kinda thought it was mostly a tourist trap, but it really is a bizarre place. There is a cabin that was built 75 years ago, and since then has slid down the hill and leans at a 17 degree angle.
When walking in the cabin, it is an unsettling feeling, almost like you are sea sick on a boat. You are always leaning on an angle up the hill. There is a pendulum hanging and it only swings one way. You can try to push it, but for some reason, there is a force pushing against it.
They didn't really explain why all of this happens and just call it a mystery, but there must be some kind of huge magnetic metal deposit deep underground. At least that is my theory. I'd really like to see a geology map. But for now, we are happy with our free number stickers.
