Cal Tech

Yesterday I had some time to kill while I was waiting for my car to get an oil change so Syd and I walked around the Cal Tech campus. I had never been there before, but it is actually in the heart of Pasadena. Cal Tech is probably one of the hardest colleges to get into because of its size. It only had a couple hundred undergrads, and most people are there doing research for their masters of doctorates.






The campus is lined with olive trees and there are a lot of little gardens with different ponds. One is full of lily pads and the other turtles. The turtles are really tame because they swim right up to you when you are standing on the edge. The baby one was my favorite.


There is also a country club at the school called the Athenaeum. You have to be a member to go inside and eat dinner there. The building is particularly historical because Albert Einstein lived there while he was working at Cal Tech. They seem to take a lot of pride in that fact on campus.
