Tiin took Ch and I to see the Rheinfall yesterday. The Rheinfall is the biggest waterfall in Europe (spilling a ridiculous amount of gallons of water per minute, as you can tell I didn't pay attention to the sign and I can't remember what Tiin said...), and the Rhein river marks the north/eastern border of Switzerland.
We parked on one bank of the river (maybe the south? It was the right of this picture) and walked down toward the waterfall. It was a warm evening and not packed with tourists, so Tiin picked a good time to go (Yay Tiin!). Sometimes the Rheinfall has bus loads of people swarming the paths.
When we got down to the water, you could feel the spray. We took this little boat across the river so we could get a better view of the fall. The boat ride was all of 2 minutes because the current was so strong. Some boats go right up next to the fall, but those people have to be crazy because the water is so powerful it could easily take out the little boat if it goes even a little bit in the wrong direction.
After snapping a few more pictures of the huge amount of water crashing over the rocks, we took the trail and bridge back up to where we parked. One more Swiss sight crossed off our summer list!
