Today was the first day of school, and Syd took my traditional photo this morning. The first day is my favorite day of the year because I love the excitement. It is fun to see the kids again and amazing to see how much they have all grown! 
As a welcome tradition, HW has a convocation with the entire school. It is a big production to bus the middle schoolers to the Upper School, but seeing the entire community together makes it worth it. After a few brief speeches, they gave us pretzels and time to catch up with people we know.
Good first day and bring on the new school year.
