Homecoming at HW is one of the biggest events of the year. The Upper School is taken over by the festivities and radiates school pride.
The festival has a carnival with rides, and games, and also plenty of food. I could smell the BBQ from down the street and saw the ferris wheel first. All day the rides and games were packed with students and little brothers and sisters.
The day was a huge celebration of sports. Every fall sports team played a home game back to back to back. The night was capped off by the varsity football game against Westchester.
This year, the homecoming game was particularly exciting because one of our softball alumna was inducted into the HW Athletics Hall of Fame. Julie was presented with a plaque and award during the half time show.
The softball girls gathered to cheer Julie on and congratulate her after the ceremony. Our hope is that more softball players will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the coming years too!Fun event and I liked seeing the entire school come together. Usually we are split between two campuses but Homecoming is a special day for everyone. I love it when sports bring people together and they do it well at HW.
