City, Castle, and Daycare

We did a little bit of touristy things and regular Munich people things today. We were in the Marienplatz and Syd randomly pushed an elevator door button and it turned out it went all the way to the top of the city hall. It was a total surprise that we got to see the panoramic view of Munich. They had the tops of the different buildings labeled so we knew which building was which.

Vanessa met us in the city and then we drove to Nymphenburg, which was the summer castle of King Ludwig II. It was a big white building with painted walls inside of Ludwig himself. Typical dictator.

My favorite room in the castle was the main hall. It had a checkered floor and a beautifully painted ceiling. The room was perfect for dancing.

Trying not to embarrass V too much

Later this afternoon, we helped V pick up Olivia from daycare. Her school was an experience. Lots of little kids running around and I tired to stay as clean as possible. Syd, on the other hand, embraced the kids and ran around too. They were very disappointed to find out that he did not speak German.

It has been a fun couple days in Munich hanging out and catching up with Vanessa. Tomorrow we are going to Berlin for some history and then will come back to Munich on Sunday. Turns out Munich is one of the easier places to take the train from to get to Venice, so we made reservations here for one more night. Bonus because I don't have to say "see you later" to V just yet.
